Suicide?! – Hang in there!!

Recently, German international goalkeeper Robert Enke committed suicide. That intrigued me to think about this – suicide. Why would anyone come to such a decision. Being humans, we have a choice between doing the rational thing or the irrational.

Suicide is obviously the worst choice anyone can make. Other than the obvious reason that it leads to death, it’s a lose-lose situation. People commit suicide when they face some sort of a failure and they figure that the only way out is to kill oneself. But come to think of it, committing suicide is an act, an effort which has chances of success or failure. In this case success is death and failure is to live (sigh! irony!). I call it a lose-lose situation because, even if one dies (succeeds in the attempt), the person cannot celebrate the success with anyone coz, hello… the person is dead!. And if one fails, ahem! sore loser! So, either ways, a person who tries to commit suicide never wins.

Secondly, you NEVER hit rock bottom.
Note #1. Even if you did, there’s only one way up from there, which is upwards. So things can only get better from there. So why die, when things can only get better?!

note #2. And if you haven’t hit rock bottom. Then you have two choices, one, work better and try to improve your position or wait till you hit rock bottom and read note #1

Third,
I personally know two close friends of mine who tried their hand (or wrist) at it. And they told me that one thing worse than deciding to committing suicide is to lie there dying and hoping that you would live. Thankfully they lived. Now they are both successful in life and happy.

Jokes apart, you never know what you can find around the next corner, if you don’t take that walk. So keep walking…

    Good one Joe.

  2. its funny.. its seems so irrational…

but once i was researching blogs of people under depression and hu have this suicidal instict.( i thot i cud console ppl up and probably cheer up with making friends with them… me wasnt that strong.. cudn sleep for nights)

the most important reason of wanting to attempt is not failiure or fear of failiure
    but pure simple boredom.

u just dunt see the point for what to wake up for
    going to your job
    doing your chores
wot if u dunt have dat in u to prove nething.. so that is that i guess

i m not makin an argument here..
just that i din have a lot of opening lines after all that i read..

the success of death was not about winning death but of proving life wrong..they considered it an absolute success so they din need anyone to prove it to…

i kno its not sensible but i guess there is a rational sumhow..
